We're a family-owned and operated kite business located near the Surf City–Topsail Beach town line on beautiful Topsail Island, North Carolina.
After settling on the island, we rediscovered an old favorite pastime — flying kites. There's just something about a colorful kite against a Carolina blue sky that makes a beach day even better. Before long, we were sharing that excitement with friends, neighbors, vacationers, and anyone else who wanted to get something flying.
And Surf City Kites was born.
Sharing the Joy of Kite Flying on Topsail Island Since 2021
Since 2021, we've offered a constantly changing selection of single-line kites, stunt and sport kites, dimensional kites, ocean-themed kites, windsocks and spinners, and accessories for enjoying the coastal breeze.
Whether you're spending a week in Surf City, vacationing in the Town of Topsail Beach, or lucky enough to call Topsail Island home, we believe a little kite flying makes a beautiful beach day even better.
A Local Kite Shop Without the Shopping Trip
We do things a little differently from a traditional kite shop. Surf City Kites is an online store with scheduled local pickup — we do not have a walk-in retail storefront.
That means you can shop from your beach chair, vacation rental, or wherever you happen to be, place your order online, and spend more of your vacation doing what you came here to do.
Getting Your Kite Is Easy
- Shop online. Browse our available kites, windsocks, and accessories and place your order.
- Choose your pickup time. Select a convenient local pickup time during checkout.
- Pick up and hit the beach. Collect your order near the Surf City–Topsail Beach town line at your scheduled time and get back to enjoying the island.
Shipping is also available on select items when offered during checkout.
